It can be confusing to understand the differences between the mental health professions. For instance, I get asked often, are you the doctor that prescribes medicine? What is the difference between a psychiatrist and psychologist? Can a psychiatrist diagnosis a learning disability?

 

The Ontario Psychological Association has developed a chart which hopefully provides some clarity, identifying the unique education, training and scope of each of the providers.
